The Native Nations Institute and the Indigenous Peoples Law and Policy offer a Master of Professional Studies in Indigenous Governance degree. Congratulations to Daryan Singer who is the first graduate of the degree. Daryan Singer is of the Many Goats Clan, born for Red Running into Water People Clan. Her maternal clan is Reed People and her paternal clan is Water’s Edge. Daryan is from Shonto, Arizona. With her strong Diné roots, Daryan plans to continue her journey in providing efficient leadership for her tribal community. Currently, she is focusing her efforts on advocating for the next generation through tribal educational policy, higher education institutions, and mentorships.

The degree has been designed with working professionals in mind, combining short but intensive on-campus classes with a diverse menu of online courses and externship credits that can be earned in a student’s home community. The 30-credit hybrid in-person and online MPS degree can be completed within one year. By combining the immersive, in-person-January in Tucson experience with a robust online class curriculum, the MPS gives students the flexibility to create specialized courses of study.
