Stephanie Carroll Rainie and NNI Graduate Research Associate Desi Rodriguez-Lonebear will be presenting on the ‘In Pursuit of Indigenous Data Sovereignty: Directions and Challenges’ panel with international Indigenous data experts at the Native American and Indigenous Studies Association (NAISA) Annual Meeting on May 21, 2016 at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa in Honolulu, HI. On this panel, Stephanie and Desi will discuss the importance of tribal control over data about their citizens, lands, and resources. They will also discuss the inception of the US Indigenous Data Sovereignty Network. The NAISA Annual Meeting will take place from May 18-21, 2016. More information can be found on the NAISA website.
